The authentication team at Bag Affaire includes specialists from luxury brands like Tiffany & Co., Hermès and Rolex, and from auction houses such as Sotheby’s and Christie’s. They undergo intensive training—at least 40 hours—on identifying authentic markers and receive continuous education to stay ahead of counterfeiters

Is Bag Affaire’s authentication process thorough?

The company uses a brand‑specific process that combines human expertise with AI and machine learning. Items go through proprietary tools like Bag Affaire’s Vision and Shield systems; fine jewellery and watches are evaluated by gemologists and horologists, and artworks by art specialists

Are there many fake products on Bag Affaire?

Bag Affaire states that it is the only resale platform that authenticates every item it sells. Hundreds of experts inspect thousands of pieces daily, using advanced technology to detect counterfeits. If customers have concerns, Bag Affaire says it will resolve the issue

What is Bag Affaire’s authentication process?

What are your condition standards?

Items must be clean and wearable. Condition categories include:

Pristine – new and possibly still in original packaging;

Excellent – like new or barely worn;

Very Good – minor signs of wear such as light marks or fading;

Good – moderate wear;

Fair – heavy wear like seam splitting or scuffs;

As Is – extensive wear requiring potential repair

How often do you update exchange rates?

Non‑USD prices are updated daily based on the previous day’s exchange rate

What are your shipping and delivery options?

For U.S. addresses, Bag Affaire ships via UPS, UPS/SurePost, DHL eCommerce or OnTrac, with an extra fee for Hawaii and Alaska. International orders are handled by UPS or DHL Express to more than 60 countries

What does the heart icon next to each item mean?

It adds the item to “Obsessions,” a favourites list. Users can bookmark items and receive sale notifications; the list is accessible via the heart icon on the website or through the app menu

DOMESTIC SHIPMENTS

We ship all orders to a United States address via UPS, UPS/SurePost, OnTrac, DHL eCommerce. An additional $5 fee will be applied to orders shipped to Hawaii and Alaska.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS

We ship all orders to an address outside of the United States via UPS Worldwide Expedited, UPS, DHL Express. We ship to over 60 countries. We cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO addresses and select U.S. Territories.

*High Value Orders
High value orders, or orders shipping to an address other than the billing address, require approximately 2 additional processing days. High value orders include orders with any item over $1,000, or multiple orders that have been placed within a 24 hour period totaling $1000. A customer service representative will contact you if your order requires additional processing time.

HOME AND ART

Most Home and Art orders are shipped within 5 business days. Artwork and Furniture that is oversized may require a longer lead time. Home and Art items are excluded from the 2-day shipping for Platinum members. Costs vary by the value and size of an item. You can determine shipping costs for a specific item during the checkout process before making a purchase. We do not ship Home or Art internationally at this time.

DELIVERY INSURANCE

Bag Affaire packages are secured directly by the shippers.

SALES TAX

Bag Affaire has a fiduciary responsibility and is obligated by law to collect sales tax on orders shipped to U.S. jurisdictions that charge sales tax.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

All products except Fine Art are eligible to ship outside the U.S. to the countries listed below. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the item can be legally imported into the destination country. Regulations may prohibit importation of items made with exotic materials. Please note that the customer is responsible for any import duties, goods and services tax (GST), value added tax (VAT), and customs fees.

All orders shipped to addresses outside of the United States are shipped via UPS Worldwide Expedited. Shipping times vary based on destination.

CUSTOMS AND DUTIES

Orders shipped outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and other fees levied by the destination country. All orders are delivered duties unpaid, and all import taxes, duties and customs fees, as well as compliance with the laws and regulations of the destination country, are the customer's responsibility. Payment is usually collected at time of delivery. Bag Affaire may provide the international shipper with the product details, including cost, as well as customer name and address or other contact details, so that the information can be provided to destination customs or postal authorities, to the extent required under the laws and regulations of the destination country.

RETURNS

All items that are returnable within the United States, per our Return Policy, are also returnable internationally. The customer is responsible for return shipping fees.

CONSIGNMENTS

We accept consignments only from within the United States.
